Crane Operator Classes Coquitlam - Crane operator training is for supervisors and operators of overhead lifting machinery. The course is suitable for both new and current operators. Course content deals with relevant state, federal and provincial safety regulations. The first part of training comprises comprehensive in-class lessons and exam. Following that is a hands-on customized session with practical instruction and evaluation.

The content of the course applies to all categories and types of overhead lifting crane machines. The instruction would specifically focus on all aspects of crane operation that could be performed at the workplace of the trainee. Upon completing the course, trainees will learn how to operate specific overhead lifting machines, related parts and attachments in a safe and efficient manner.

The purpose of the operator course is to identify any potentially dangerous habits that an operator might develop when operating an overhead crane. Costly damage to products and equipment could be avoided with proper habits. Training reduces the possibility of a workplace injury or incident occurring.

The course would encompass roughly eight hours of classroom instruction with a couple of hours of on-site, hands-on, customized training. Participants would be graded on their knowledge of training material through written tests and an evaluation of their practical knowledge. The minimum acceptable score is eighty percent.

In the in-class session, participants would be taught applicable causes of damages and occurrences, legislation and guidelines, hazard awareness, internal responsibility, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, design principles and basic equipment, safe hosting/operating techniques, pre-shift equipment inspections, types of hardware, equipment applications/rigging, operator/pedestrian safety, angles and hitches, hand signals for operators and slingers, flipping/turning loads safely.

The customized practical training and evaluation session must be pre-scheduled. It would be held at the trainees' facility following completion of the in-class session. The duration of this practical training part is an hour or two. Two operators at a time will be trained by the instructor about skills like for instance safe operation, planning the lift and proper rigging practices.

Upon completion of the in-class instruction and the practical operating instruction and evaluation, the trainee will write a test. Signed safety rules would be needed from each and every participant. Trainees who are successful will be provided with individual wallet certificates. The company will be given a framed wall certificate.
